Pitcher & Piano - enjoy food and drink by the riverbank

Richmond is without a doubt one of the loveliest areas to dine in London with river side restaurants abuzz with merry locals.

LondonCityGirl went down to the Piano & Pitcher on the riverfront to enjoy dinner, drinks and the atmosphere.

Housed in a historic mansion building the restaurant has a feature archway that leads you into the restaurant area with cosy tables ready for guests. The stunning conservatory dining area opens onto the terrace where small groups can gather and kick back on a night out.

To start your meal you can choose from a selection of small dishes and sharers which feature calamari, falafel balls and nachos to name but a few items.

For the mains there’s burgers, sandwiches and salads as well as the classic meals with meat at the heart of the dish accompanied by vegetables and sauces.

Unfortunately being just two individuals we couldn’t try everything on the menu but the dishes that caught our eye were most definitely the lemon and garlic roast chicken, the glazed leek mac & cheese because who doesn’t love mac and cheese and the confit duck leg.

The dessert menu boasts the classics such as Eton mess, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie to choose from.

The Piano and Pitcher can’t have a name like that and not have lots and lots of drink to choose from! There are cocktails galore from mai tais to cosmopolitans to mojitos but where we think it gets really interesting is when you start choosing from the house cocktails. We would definitely recommend the Green Goddess, a gin based concoction with melon liqueur, kiwi and vanilla sugar syrup - absolutely delicious!

A three course dinner for two at the Pitcher and Piano with a couple of cocktails each will set you back around £80+.
